Bok Choy with Garlic

Ingredients

  • Baby bok choy: 1 lb, halved lengthwise
  • Garlic, sliced: 4-5 cloves
  • Oil: 2-3 tbsp
  • Light soy sauce: 1-1.5 tbsp
  • Shaoxing wine: ½ tbsp
  • Sesame oil: ½ tsp
  • Sugar: ¼ tsp
  • Stock: 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt: to taste
  • White pepper: pinch

Instructions

  1. Heat wok over high heat, add oil
  2. Stir-fry garlic until fragrant but not browned
  3. Add bok choy, toss briefly to coat with oil
  4. Add stock, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar
  5. Cover and cook 2-3 minutes until bok choy tender but still crisp
  6. Uncover, toss to reduce liquid slightly
  7. Finish with sesame oil, adjust salt and pepper
  8. Serve immediately
