Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage head
  • 400 g ground pork
  • 100 g rice
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 whole egg
  • 400 ml tomato sauce
  • 200 ml beef broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Blanch whole cabbage head in boiling water for 5 minutes until leaves are pliable
  2. Carefully peel off leaves and set aside
  3. Cook rice until just tender, cool slightly
  4. Sauté diced onion and garlic, combine with ground pork, cooked rice, and egg
  5. Season filling with salt and pepper
  6. Place 2-3 tbsp filling on each cabbage leaf, fold in sides and roll tightly
  7. Arrange rolls seam-side down in oiled baking dish
  8. Mix tomato sauce with beef broth, pour over rolls
  9. Bake covered at 160°C for 45-50 minutes
  10. Uncover for last 10 minutes to brown top slightly
  11. Serve with sour cream on the side
