Ingredients

  • 600 g all-purpose flour
  • 10 g instant yeast
  • 300 ml warm milk
  • 3 whole egg
  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 150 g raisin
  • 100 g candied fruit
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 whole egg yolk

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast with warm milk and 1 tbsp sugar, let sit 10 minutes
  2. Combine flour and salt
  3. Beat eggs with remaining sugar until pale, add butter gradually
  4. Combine yeast mixture with egg mixture
  5. Add flour gradually, knead until smooth and elastic
  6. Add raisins, candied fruit, and vanilla
  7. Place in oiled bowl, cover, let rise 2 hours until doubled
  8. Divide between two loaf pans, let rise 1 hour
  9. Brush top with egg yolk, bake at 180°C for 30-35 minutes
  10. Cool on rack before serving
