Ingredients

  • 2 cups makki ka atta (corn flour)
  • 0.5 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 0.75-1 cup warm water
  • Ghee or butter for serving

Instructions

  1. Mix makki ka atta, wheat flour, salt and sugar in a bowl
  2. Add oil and rub into flour
  3. Gradually add warm water, mixing and kneading into a soft dough
  4. Knead 5-7 minutes until smooth
  5. Cover and rest 10-15 minutes
  6. Divide into 8 equal balls
  7. Oil a piece of plastic wrap or cloth
  8. Place ball on oiled surface, flatten and roll between plastic till thin
  9. Remove plastic carefully and transfer to hot tawa
  10. Cook on medium-high, when slight browning appears, flip
  11. Add ghee around edges and on top
  12. When brown spots appear, flip again
  13. Press gently with spatula and cook till crisp
  14. Serve hot with sarson da saag or any curry
