Ingredients
- 12 sheets phyllo pastry
- 200 g walnut
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 150 g butter
- 150 ml honey
- 150 ml water
- 2 whole clove
Instructions
- Finely chop walnuts, mix with sugar and cinnamon
- Melt butter, brush into 9x13 baking pan
- Layer 6 phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter
- Spread walnut mixture evenly
- Top with remaining 6 phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter
- Score top into diamond shapes
- Bake at 160°C for 40-45 minutes until golden
- Make syrup: combine water, honey, and cloves, simmer 5 minutes
- Pour hot syrup over hot pastry immediately after removing from oven
- Cool completely before cutting
