Ingredients

  • 400 g pasta
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 60 g butter
  • 60 g flour
  • 750 ml milk
  • 150 g parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside
  2. Sauté diced onion and garlic in olive oil until soft
  3. Add ground beef, cook until browned, add tomato paste and cinnamon
  4. Simmer beef sauce for 10-15 minutes, season with salt and pepper
  5. Make béchamel: melt butter, whisk in flour, gradually add milk while stirring
  6. Cook béchamel until thick, season with salt, pepper, and half the parmesan
  7. Mix cooked pasta with beef sauce, spread in 9x13 baking pan
  8. Pour béchamel evenly over pasta layer
  9. Sprinkle remaining parmesan on top, bake at 180°C for 35-40 minutes until golden
