Ingredients
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 5 g instant yeast
- 250 ml warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Mix warm water with yeast, let sit for 5 minutes
- Combine flour and salt in bowl
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil to flour
- Mix until shaggy dough forms, knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth
- Place in oiled bowl, cover, let rise for 1.5-2 hours until doubled
- Divide dough into 8 equal pieces, shape into balls
- Cover and let rest for 30 minutes
- Roll each ball into 6mm thick circle
- Heat cast iron or nonstick skillet over high heat
- Place pita in hot pan for 1-2 minutes per side until puffed and slightly charred
- Stack finished pita under towel to keep warm and soft
