Saewoo Jjim (Steamed Shrimp with Vegetables)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs large shrimp
  • 1 head broccoli
  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 0.5 whole onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 inch ginger
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 0.5 tsp fish sauce
  • 2 stalks scallions
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Clean shrimp but leave shells on
  2. Cut broccoli into florets
  3. Slice mushrooms
  4. Slice onion thinly
  5. Mince garlic and ginger
  6. Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, and fish sauce
  7. Arrange broccoli, mushrooms, and onion on steaming platter
  8. Place shrimp on vegetables
  9. Pour sauce over shrimp and vegetables
  10. Top with minced garlic and ginger
  11. Steam for 8-10 minutes until shrimp are pink
  12. Sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds
  13. Serve hot
