Souvlaki

Ingredients

  • 800 g pork tenderloin
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 whole bell pepper
  • 8 whole wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes
  2. Cut pork into 3cm cubes, onion and peppers into large chunks
  3. Whisk together lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper
  4. Marinate pork in mixture for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight
  5. Thread pork, onion, and pepper pieces onto skewers, alternating
  6. Grill over medium-high heat for 12-15 minutes, turning every 3 minutes until cooked through
  7. Rest for 5 minutes before serving with tzatziki sauce and pita bread
