Ingredients
- 8 pieces chicken thighs
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp sake
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 stalk scallion
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup potato starch
- 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 whole lemon
Instructions
- Make marinade with soy sauce, mirin, sake, minced garlic, ginger, and scallion
- Marinate chicken for at least 2 hours
- Mix flour and potato starch with salt and pepper
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels
- Dredge chicken in flour mixture
- Heat oil to 350°F in deep fryer
- Fry chicken in batches for 12-15 minutes until golden
- Drain on paper towels
- Cut lemon into wedges
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges
