Ingredients

  • 2 cups well-fermented idli/dosa batter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • Oil or ghee as needed
  • Salt if needed

Instructions

  1. Adjust batter to dosa-like pouring consistency if too thick
  2. Mix onion, tomato, chilli, coriander in a bowl
  3. Heat tawa, grease lightly
  4. Pour thick ladle of batter (slightly thicker than dosa, smaller circle)
  5. Quickly sprinkle topping mixture over surface and press lightly
  6. Drizzle oil around sides and cook on medium until bottom is golden
  7. Flip and cook other side until onions are lightly browned
  8. Serve with coconut chutney and sambar
